Lord, when I am hungry, give me someone who needs food.
When I am thirsty, send me someone who needs a drink.
When he is cold, send me someone to warm him.
When he is upset, offer me someone to comfort him.
When my cross becomes heavy, make me share another’s cross.
When I feel poor, lead me to someone who is in need.
When I have time, give me someone I can help for a few moments.
When I feel humiliated, make me have someone to praise.
When I am discouraged, send me someone to encourage.
When I feel the need for understanding from others, send me someone who needs mine.
When I need to be taken care of, send me someone to take care of.
When I think only of myself, it draws my attention to another person.
Make us worthy, Lord, to serve our brothers who, throughout the world,
