That man immediately put into practice the advice of the Saint: he made a sincere confession of all his sins with his companion, put all his things in order and prepared himself as best he could to receive death. Raising himself, then, to God at the impulse of the seraphic ardor of his desires and transformed by his tender compassion into the One who, because of his extreme charity, wanted to be crucified: one morning of a day close to the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross , which is celebrated on September 14, while he was praying on one of the flanks of the mountain, he saw a seraphim descend from the highest point of heaven with six wings as fiery as they were resplendent.
