Si yo fuera rico

Vamos a la tertulia del University College

Interviene el moderador: Los acontecimientos de Inglaterra,nos deben hacer reflexionar, la calma del  mundo se perdió ya, con las protestas  en los países árabes, la población estaba cansada de la corrupción y del injusto reparto de la riqueza. Pero algunos de los políticos enriquecidos, todavía no se han dado cuenta.

Algunos dicen, a la política hemos venido a enriquecernos y a nadie hacemos daño, y como nos envidian, protestan y a mí me ha costado muchos esfuerzos (no se sabe de que tipo) pasar de un apartamento de cincuenta metros a a un chalet de trescientos,con dos garajes y un jardín,hay desigualdades, pero siempre las ha habido

Está claro que si yo fuera rico no pensaría así, cuantos currantes se pasan toda su vida en el apartamento de cincuenta metros y al llegar a la jubilación lo que tienen solo son pequeñas deudas…

Si yo fuera rico en estos momentos, pensaría  ya en la  inseguridad de mi riqueza… se avecinan tiempos, no digo malos,sino peores,  en que los ricos tendrán que repartir a la fuerza su riqueza con los pobres, pero como eso nunca lo van hacer,  les será arrebatada

Pero antes que ardan Londres París ,Berlín y Roma, no sería más sensato  empezar a distribuir algo de la riqueza acumulada y no esperar a que sea destruida por las llamas.

Interviene el primero: Me llama la atención un árticulo de David Brooks  acerca de los ricos de Estados Unidos y lo titula “Lujo, hambre y furia”. Me ha dejado un tanto preocupado cuando dice: La demanda de artículos de lujo –desde zapatos de 800 dólares y cremas cosméticas de 1.300 hasta Mercedes Benz de 200.000– disfruta un auge, mientras casi 46 millones de estadunidenses dependen más que nunca de la asistencia federal para comprar alimentos básicos y evitar el hambre. Eso resume a Estados Unidos hoy día.

Interrumpe el segundo refiriéndose a las calles de Londres: Tenemos una gran cantidad de jóvenes sin formación en las calles sin nada que hacer ¿Qué creemos que van a hacer? Los sacamos de la escuela a la edad de 13 o 14 cuando apenas son capaces de leer y escribir (…). Como me dijo uno de ellos: tu hijo va de la escuela a la universidad, nosotros vamos de la escuela a la cárcel

Aparece el tercero : me sorprendió este comentario …”Yo creo que cuando desde aquí se vio lo que había pasado en Tottenham y se vieron los robos en las tiendas, todo el mundo se excitó y pensó: ¡Guau! ¡Cosas gratis, cosas gratis! Y pensaron que también podían hacerlo ellos».

Comenta el cuarto: La diversidad racial de Tottenham es evidente. Residentes subsaharianos, afrocaribeños, polacos, judíos ortodoxos, turcos e ingleses blancos se mezclan por unas destartaladas calles repletas de pequeños comercios, restaurantes de diferentes nacionalidades, polígonos industriales y talleres de reparación de coches.

Viene el quinto: La crisis económica, con el aumento del paro y de los recortes sociales del Gobierno, ha recrudecido una complicada situación de un barrio marcado por la pobreza.

Involving the moderator: The events in England, we must reflect the tranquility of the world already lost, with protests in Arab countries, people were tired of corruption and unfair distribution of wealth. But some of the rich politicians, have yet to be realized

Some say, politics have come to enrich and we hurt nobody, and as we envy, and I protest has cost me much effort (do not know what kind) to pass a fifty-meter apartment to a house of three hundred, with two garages and a garden, there are inequalities, but there always have been

Clearly, if I were rich I would not think so, how many people spend their entire lives in the apartment of fifty meters and reaching retirement are just what they have small debts

If I were rich now, think, and the insecurity of my wealth … times ahead, do not say bad, but worse, that the rich will have to distribute to force their wealth with the poor, but like that will never do, they will be caught

But before you burn London, Paris, Berlin and Rome, it would be wiser to start distributing some of the accumulated wealth and not wait until it is destroyed by fire

Spoke first: I am struck by an article by David Brooks about America’s rich and titled «Luxury, hunger and anger.» I left a little worried when he says: The demand for luxury goods-from $ 800 shoes and cosmetic creams of 1,300 to 200,000 Mercedes-enjoying a boom, while nearly 46 million Americans rely more than ever of the federal assistance to buy basic food and avoid starvation. That sums up the United States today

Interrupts the second referring to the streets of London: We have a lot of young people without training in the streets with nothing to do what we’re going to do? We took them out of school at age 13 or 14 when they are barely able to read and write (…). As one of them told me: your child leaves school to college, we go from school to jail

Appears third, this comment surprised me … «I think when we saw here what happened at Tottenham and were seen shoplifting, everyone got excited and thought, Wow!Free stuff, free stuff! They thought they could also do them. «

Discuss the fourth, Tottenham racial diversity is obvious. Resident Sub-Saharan, Afro-Caribbean, Polish, Orthodox Jews, Turks and British targets are mixed by a ramshackle streets lined with small shops, restaurants of different nationalities, industrial estates and car repair shops

Comes the fifth: The economic crisis, with rising unemployment and welfare cuts the Government has intensified a complicated situation in a neighborhood marked by poverty
