EL islam según Amin Maalouf

Vamos a  la tertulia del University College

EL moderador interviene: Amin Maalouf   en su libro”! El desajuste del  mundo, culpa tanto al Occidente como al Oriente…Así dice  ¡ Sigo convencido por mi parte  de que la civilización occidental creó más valores universales que cualquier otra; pero demostró que era incapaz de trasmitirlos adecuadamente. Un fallo cuyo precio está pagando  ahora toda la humanidad. Y respecto a algunas zonas del tercer mundo.. Comenta..! La forma en que se vive la religión en tierras del Islam es reflejo del callejón sin salida  histórico en que se hallan los pueblos; si salen de él volverán a dar con los versículos adecuados para la democracia, para la modernidad, para el laicismo, para la coexistencia.!

Interrumpe el primero: Cuando comenta que los musulmanes están en un callejón histórico sin salida,se pregunta ¿De  quién es la culpa de este proceso? Es difícil dar una repuesta, puede que la culpa sea de los árabes, los musulmanes y la forma en que viven su religión,  pero hay una gran responsabilidad de los occidentales por la forma en que llevan desde hace siglos manejando sus relaciones con los demás pueblos

Interviene el segundo: a mí una de las cosas que más me a gustado del libro de Amin cuando se interroga si de verdad intentaron las potencias occidentales implantar sus valores en sus antiguas posesiones  . El dice que no por desdicha. Más bien nunca aceptaron que los”  Indígenas  “ sometidos a su autoridad administrativa predicasen la libertad, y la igualdad. De modo que las élites de los países colonizados no tuvieron más elección que apoderarse en contra de la voluntad del colonizador de esos valores en contra de este.

Interviene el tercero: a mí me sorprende  cuando dice  que se ha abusado de que los países musulmanes no está preparados para democracia, cuando es una mentira. Más bien rechazan a los que la utilizan como propaganda política, pero en realidad lo que les interesa es someter a los pueblos. Está claro que los Iraquíes rechazaron a la democracia norteamericana por sus comportamientos atípicos Así dice ¡ Occidente se enemistó <ante todo> con las élites partidarias de la modernidad, mientras que con las fuerzas retrógradas siempre encontró apaños, ámbitos donde entenderse, convergencia de intereses ¡

Interviene el cuarto: Amin a Occidente lo deja mal parado cuando dice ¡siempre estuvo dividido entre el deseo de civilizar al mundo y la voluntad de dominarlo. Este encuentro fallido entre las civilizaciones lo está pagando muy caro los pueblos de Oriente porque se han visto privados de sus sectores más modernos que habrían podido cimentar sociedades de libertad y democracia.

Interviene el Quinto: Amin, respecto a terrorismo del Islam, tienen sus apoyos y no pequeños. Así dice..! Esta idea de que Occidente se enfrenta a un puñado de terroristas que hablan de forma abusiva en nombre del Islam y cuyos actos es probable que repruebe la mayoría de los creyentes no siempre se corresponde con la realidad .Los atentados y los conflictos armados, los disculpan o incluso, a veces lo aplauden

Interviene el sexto: el pone una vez más en evidencia la confrontación entre las dos civilizaciones cuando dice…! Para unos el islam ha demostrado que es incapaz de hacer suyos los valores universales que predica Occidente; para otros, Occidente es ante todo el portador de una voluntad de dominio universal a la que los musulmanes intentan oponer resistencia con los medios limitados que aún le quedan.

EL moderador Comenta: finalizaremos la tertulia con unas frases de Amin, que nos harán reflexionar en las tertulias posteriores ¡Una de las grandes lecciones del siglo que acaba de concluir es que las ideologías pasan y las religiones permanecen. Lo que hace a las religiones virtualmente indestructibles es que les brinda a sus adeptos el ancla de una identidad duradera. En varias etapas de la Historia pareció que prevalecían otras solidaridades más nuevas, más modernas: la clase, la nación. Pero hasta ahora, la religión ha tenido siempre la última palabra. Pensaron que se la podía expulsar del ámbito público para confinarla solo dentro de las fronteras del culto. Y vemos que la religión es próspera, conquistadora e incluso invasora  en muchas ocasiones, sobre todo en tierras del Islam

The moderator intervenes: Amin Maalouf in his book! The imbalance in the world, blames both the West and the East … It says I’m still convinced that Western civilization has created more than any other universal values, but showed that it was unable to transmit them properly. A decision is now paying the price of which all humanity. And on some parts of the Third World .. Comment ..! The way in which religion is lived in the lands of Islam reflects the historic impasse that people are, if it come back to find suitable verses for democracy, for modernity to secularism, for coexistence.!

Interrupts the first: When says that Muslims are in an alley historic without exit,wondered who is the fault of this process? It is difficult to give a record, can the fault of the Arabs, Muslims and the manner in which they live their religion, but there is a great responsibility of the but there is a great responsibility of the western for the manner in which bear for centuries handling its relations with other peoples

Involving the second, to me one of the things I liked about the book to Amin when questioned if he really tried to Western powers to implement their values in their former possessions. He says that unfortunately. Rather never accepted that the <Indigenous> under its administrative authority preach freedom and equality. So the elites of the colonized countries had no choice but to take over against the will of the colonizer of those values against this

Involving the third, surprises me when he says he has abused that Muslim countries are not prepared for democracy when it is a lie. Rather reject those who use it as political propaganda, but what really interests them is to subject peoples. . It is clear that the Iraqis refused to American democracy by their behavior atypical says ¡ West is falling with the elites partisan of modernity, while with the forces backward always found fix, areas where understood, convergence of interests ¡

The fourth: Amin to the West makes bad stopped when he says always was divided between the desire to civilize the world and the desire to dominate. This meeting failed between civilizations is paying dearly the peoples of the East  because they have been deprived of their sectors more modern than could have been cement companies of freedom and democracy

The Fifth: Amin, regarding terrorism of Islam, have their support and not small. It said ! This idea that the West is faced with a handful of terrorists who speak of improperly in the name of Islam and whose acts is likely to fails the majority of believers not always correspond with reality .The attacks and armed conflict, the apology or even, sometimes they applaud

Involving the sixth, he puts in evidence once again the confrontation between the two civilizations as you say …! For some, Islam has shown that it is unable to endorse the West preaches universal values, for others, the West is primarily a carrier of a universal desire to dominate the Muslims try to resist the media still has limited .

The Moderator comment: the gathering will conclude with some words of Amin, that make us reflect.

! one of the great lessons of the century that has just concluded is that the ideologies pass and religions remain. At various stages of history seemed to prevail other solidarities newer, more modern, class, nation. But until now, religion has always had the last word. They thought that it could expel from the public to confine only within the boundaries of religion. And we see that religion is thriving, triumphant and even invasive in many cases, especially in Islamic lands
