The image of Merciful Jesus.

The outline of the image was revealed to Sister Faustina in a vision on February 22, 1931 in her cell at the Plock convent. “At nightfall, while I was in my cell – she writes in the Diary – I saw the Lord Jesus dressed in a white tunic. He had one hand raised to bless and with the other touched the tunic on his chest. From the opening of the tunic in his chest, two great rays came out: one red and one pale. (…) After a moment, Jesus told me: Paint an image according to the model you see, and sign: Jesus, I trust in You (Diary 47). I want this image (…) to be solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter; that Sunday should be the Feast of Mercy» Diary, 49).
