«It must have been 1:30 pm when, exactly where the children were, a cloud of smoke, thin, fine and bluish, rose, extending about six feet above their heads, where they evaporated. This phenomenon, perfectly visible to the naked eye, lasted a few seconds. Because I did not realize how long this phenomenon lasted, I do not know if it was more or less a minute. «During the solar phenomenon, which I have just described, color changes also occurred in the atmosphere. When looking at the sun, I noticed that everything was darkening. The objects around me, the sky and the atmosphere, were the same color. Everything had changed, both near and far, taking on the yellowish color of old damask.
